About the Author

A veteran of the Brooklyn scene, Ellen Freudenheim has written four comprehensive Brooklyn guides in 25 years. In 1991, Freudenheim and her husband, newcomers to the borough, coauthored the first independent Brooklyn guidebook since World War II. In 2004, she coauthored the award-winning Brooklyn: The Ultimate Guide to New York’s Most Happening Borough with her teenage daughter. This guide, her latest and best, features amazing photos, day-trip itineraries, and a whirlwind tour around the Big Apple’s most beloved borough. Freudenheim lives in Park Slope.
